कुसुमैर् अङ्कुरैः केचित्
पल्लवैश् च दलैः फलैः
हस्तैर् दृशद्भिः शिग्भिश् च
जक्षुस् ते कृत-भाजनाः
kusumair aṅkuraiḥ kecit
pallavaiś ca dalaiḥ phalaiḥ
hastair dṛśadbhiḥ śigbhiś ca
jakṣus te kṛta-bhājanāḥ
kusumaiḥ—with flowers; aṅkuraiḥ—with grass; kecit—some; pallavaiḥ—with twigs; ca—and; dalaiḥ—with leaves; phalaiḥ—with fruits; hastaiḥ—with hands; dṛśadbhiḥ—with stones; śigbhiḥ—with rope; ca—and; jakṣuḥ—ate; te—they; kṛta—having made; bhājanāḥ—dishes.
English translation of verse 2.7.14:
Making lunch-trays out of flowers, grass, twigs, leaves, fruit, rocks, rope, or their hands, the boys ate.
