लालितौ पोषितौ शिशू
कदा विनिर्गताव् अङ्कात्
क्वचिद् अङ्कं समास्थितौ

yaśodayā ca rohiṇyā
lālitau poṣitau śiśū
kadā vinirgatāv aṅkāt
kvacid aṅkaṃ samāsthitau

yaśodayā—by Yaśodā; ca—and; rohiṇyā—Rohiṇī; lālitau—caressed; poṣitau—nourished; iśū—the two boys; kadāwhen?; vinirgatau—gone; aṅkāt—from the lap; kvacit—where?; aṅkam—a lap; samāsthitau—staying.

Yaśodā and Rohiṇī fed, fondled and caressed the two boys. When did the boys leave their laps? To whose lap did They go?
