The Garga-samhita Verse 1.5.8, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 5 (The Lord’s Appearance) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

वरं वृणीत चेत्य् उक्तम्
श्रुत्वा नार्यो महा-वने
तं दृट्ट्वा मोहम् आपन्ना
ऊचुर् भार्ता भवात्र नः

varaṃ vṛṇīta cety uktam
śrutvā nāryo mahā-vane
taṃ dṛṭṭvā moham āpannā
ūcur bhārtā bhavātra naḥ

varama benediction; vṛṇīta—choose; ca—also; iti-thus; uktam—said;

English translation of verse 1.5.8:

śrutvā—hearing; naryaḥ—the women; mahā-vane—in the great forest; tam—Him;

dṛṭṭvā—seeing; moham āpannā—became enchanted; ūcuḥ—said; bhārtā—

husband; bhava—become; atra—here; naḥ—of us.

Seeing the Lord in a great forest, they became completely enchanted by Him.

Hearing Him say, "Please choose a benediction," they said, "Please become our husband here".
