The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.5.529, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 529 of Antya-khanda chapter 5—“The Pastimes of Nityananda”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.5.529:

যত চোর দস্যু—তার মহা-সেনাপতি নামে সে ব্রাহ্মণ, অতি পরম কুমতি ॥ ৫২৯ ॥

यत चोर दस्यु—तार महा-सेनापति नामे से ब्राह्मण, अति परम कुमति ॥ ५२९ ॥

yata cora dasyu—tāra mahā-senāpati nāme se brāhmaṇa, ati parama kumati || 529 ||

yata cora dasyu—tara maha-senapati name se brahmana, ati parama kumati (529)

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

brāhmaṇa in name only.

The phrase nāme se brāhmaṇa refers to a brāhmaṇa-bruva, or a so-called brāhmaṇa. See the Padma Purāṇa and the Manu-saṃhitā (7.85) for definitions and symptoms of the brāhmaṇa-bruvas.
