The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.21.72, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 72 of Madhya-khanda chapter 21—“The Lord’s Chastisement of Devananda”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.21.72:

বুঝিলাম, তুমি সে পডাও ভাগবত কোন জন্মে না জানহ গ্রন্থ-অভিমত ॥ ৭২ ॥

बुझिलाम, तुमि से पडाओ भागवत कोन जन्मे ना जानह ग्रन्थ-अभिमत ॥ ७२ ॥

bujhilāma, tumi se paḍāo bhāgavata kona janme nā jānaha grantha-abhimata || 72 ||

bujhilama, tumi se padao bhagavata kona janme na janaha grantha-abhimata (72)

English translation:

(72) “I can understand that even though you teach Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, you have not realized its purport in any of your lifetimes.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

Although Devānanda was a teacher of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, birth after birth he never had the good fortune to understand the purport of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam.
