[aru¹.] A river that flows through the Pudukkottah State, forming the traditional boundary between the Cōḻa and the Pāṇḍya kingdoms; புதுக் கோட்டைச் சீமையில் உள்ளதும் சோழபாண்டிய நாடு களுக்கு இடையெல்லையானதுமான ஒரு நதி. வெள் ளாறது வடக்காம் [puthug kottais simaiyil ullathum sozhapandiya nadu kalukku idaiyellaiyanathumana oru nathi. vel larathu vadakkam] (தனிப்பாடற்றிரட்டு [thanippadarrirattu] i, 126, 2).
