Vāṇakōppāṭi (வாணகோப்பாடி) [vāṇa-kō-pāṭi] noun < வாணன்² [vanan²] + கோ³ [ko³] + பாடி¹. [padi¹.] The country of the Bāṇas, an ancient kingdom comprising portions of the Mysore State, and of the Karnool and North Arcot districts; வாணவரசர் ஆண்டதும் மைசூர் சமஸ்தானம், கர்நூல் சில்லா, வடஆற்காடு சில்லா ஆகியவற்றின் பாகங்கள் அடங்கியதுமான நாடு.
