tāvaṇēṃ (तावणें).—v c (tāva) To heat to a red heat (metals &c.) 2 To heat (milk, ghee, water). 3 (Usually tāva dēṇēṃ) To scold and rate vehemently and coarsely; to set down; to blow up. tāvalēlā sulākhalēlā One tried and tested, experienced and proved. tāvūna sulākhūna After experiment and trial; after testing and proving: also, as used with such verbs as kāḍhaṇēṃ, nighaṇēṃ, jāṇēṃ, after or out of many trials and troubles, many difficulties and adversities--rescuing, extricating, escaping, emerging &c. tāvūna sulākhūna ghēṇēṃ To receive after rigid assay and examination (metals or coins).
