Rājikākusuma (राजिकाकुसुम) or Rājikāpuṣpa refers to the “flowers of the Rājikā plant”, which are used in the worship of Śiva, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.1.14:—“[...] the flowers of Rājikā bring about the death of enemies (śatrumṛtyu). A hundred thousand Rājikā flowers shall be used for the worship of Śiva. The benefit accruing will be very great (vipulaphala)”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
