laḍhaṇēṃ (लढणें).—v i ( H) To fight with or to fight. 2 To contend or strive with in general. 3 fig. To cope or vie with; to contend emulously. 4 Freely. To grow thickly or to cluster together (quasi to jostle one another);--used of fruits, ears of corn, gems on a wreath &c. laḍhūna paḍaṇēṃ To fall upon or set to with high alacrity or eagerness.

lādhaṇēṃ (लाधणें).—v i (Esp. in poetry. lābha S) To accrue, come unto, arise unto as an acquisition or a gain. Ex. sudhākumbha jō lādhalā dēvajāti || hirōni baḷēṃ daitya ghēūni jāti. 2 To profit or avail; to be of service or advantage to. In this sense the word is in popular use, although ordinarily with neg. con. Ex. hī vastū cāṅgalī mhaṇūna ghētalī paṇa malā kāṃhīñca lādhata nāhīṃ.
