lahaṇēṃ (लहणें).—n When a merchant gives a bill on a merchant in whose hands he has no funds, he sends to him the amount of the bill in cash, or an order for the amount upon a merchant with whom he has funds; that his bill may be honored when presented. This cash or order is lahaṇēṃ. 2 fig. Accommodateness or adaptedness (of a person or a thing). hyācēṃ malā or hyācēṃ mājhēṃ la0 nāhīṃ There is no fund (of affection, kindness &c.) between him and me.

lāhaṇēṃ (लाहणें).—v i (Poetry. lābha S) To accrue unto; to come unto as gain or profit: also to avail or be of advantage unto. See lādhaṇēṃ. Ex. mēlāci marōni lāhē gēlāci jāvōni lāhē karmavaśēṃ. 2 To arise or come unto generally. Ex. nātarīṃ jaisēṃ tōya || sākhara ghālitāṃ guḷacaṭa hōya || lavaṇa miḷavitāṃ pāhē || kṣāratva lāhē tatkāḷa ||.
