Source: Shodhganga: The significance of the mūla-beras (śilpa)Kannimūla is the name of a (Vināyaka) deity depicted at the Nellaiappar Temple at Tirunelveli, representing a sacred place for the worship of Śiva.—To the right of the main sanctum is the Kannimūla Vin āyaka sannidhi where three similar images of Vināyaka are found with a liṅga and a rat in front. The usual form of Vināyaka is found.
