Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarKamenāman (कमेनामन्).—lit. noun showing action, participle. कर्मप्रवचनीय (karmapravacanīya) a technical term used in connection with a preposition which showed a verbal activity formerly, although for the present time it does not show it; the word is used as a technical term in grammar in connection with prefixes or उपसर्ग (upasarga)s which are not used along.with a root, but without it cf. कर्म प्रोक्तवन्तः कर्मप्रवचनीयाः इति (karma proktavantaḥ karmapravacanīyāḥ iti) M.Bh. on P.I.4.83; e.g. शाकल्यस्य संहितामनु प्रावर्षत्, अन्वर्जुनं योद्धारः, आ कुमारं यशः पाणिनेः (śākalyasya saṃhitāmanu prāvarṣat, anvarjunaṃ yoddhāraḥ, ā kumāraṃ yaśaḥ pāṇineḥ); cf. Kāś. on P.I.4.83 to 98.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
