Kalluvai (கல்லுவை) [kalluvaittal] [kallu-vai] intransitive verb < idem. +. (J.)

1. To lay anchor; நங்கூரமிடுதல். [nanguramiduthal.]

2. To apply, with appropriate mantra, an anti-poisonous stone to the wound caused by a venomous bite; கடிவாயில் மந்திரங்கூறி விஷக்கல் வைத்தல். [kadivayil manthiranguri vishakkal vaithal.]

3. To set a stone on the forehead, the face being turned upwards to the sky and the head thrown back, a method of punishment; நெற்றியிற் கல்லைவைத்துத் தண்டித்தல். [nerriyir kallaivaithuth thandithal.]
