Jisa (जिस) [Also spelled jis]:—(pro) an oblique form of [jo] (see); —[kala baiṭhāye baiṭhanā] to dance to the tune of; ~[kā pallā bhārī usī se kara yārī] to come down on the right side of the fence; ~[kī khānā usī kī bajānā] he that pays the piper calls the tune; —[gāṃva jānā nahīṃ usakā rāstā kyā pūchanā] ? to evince no interest in the course one does not have to follow; ~[ne darda diyā usī se davā lenā] to take hair of the dog that bit you; —[pattala meṃ khānā usī meṃ cheda karanā] to fell the tree that gives you shelter, to cut the hand that feeds.
