Shaivism (Shaiva philosophy)
Source: Brill: Śaivism and the Tantric TraditionsDehadhātu (देहधातु) refers to the “tissues of the body”, according to the Īśvarapratyabhijñākārikā III.2.12.—Accordingly, “When further [the layers of the objective “self”] from the Void to the [very] tissues of the body (dehadhātu-anta) are transmuted by means of the ‘alchemical elixir,’ i.e. by the [fundamental] ‘I’-sense which is certainly conjoined with the qualities of magnificent power, eternality, sovereignty, [and others] of such nature that are cognized [as aspects of that ‘I’], then in this state [called] Beyond the Fourth they abandon (as it were) their objectivity”.
Shaiva (शैव, śaiva) or Shaivism (śaivism) represents a tradition of Hinduism worshiping Shiva as the supreme being. Closely related to Shaktism, Shaiva literature includes a range of scriptures, including Tantras, while the root of this tradition may be traced back to the ancient Vedas.
