Cittacetya (चित्तचेत्य) refers to “thought and its object”, according to the Manthānabhairavatantra, a vast sprawling work that belongs to a corpus of Tantric texts concerned with the worship of the goddess Kubjikā.—Accordingly, [while expounding Kaula and the Nine Kaulas]—“I praise Kaula without defects and free of the utterance of Mantra. Devoid of Navātman, subtle, the expander of thought and its object (cittacetya-vikāsin), free of the Wheels and Foundations, I praise Kaula, (the transcendent beyond) the purview of the senses”.
