Source: Brill: Śaivism and the Tantric TraditionsBhūtiprayojana (भूतिप्रयोजन) refers to “(that which is done) for the purpose of supernatural powers”, according to Kṣemarāja’s commentary on the Svacchandatantra verse 4.142a.—Accordingly, “He should not purify the [portion of karma] which is for the future propitiation of mantras for the purpose of supernatural powers (bhūtiprayojana); this is the meaning”.
