(From the teeth.) Saying, speech, prediction. Ex. tō bōlalā hōtā kīṃ tumacēṃ kārya hōīla tyāpramāṇēṃ kārya jhālēṃ tasmāt tyācī ba0 cāṅgalī āhē. 3 A certain observance amongst women. battiśīcā That requires thirty-two men to raise or carry it--a load or weight. ba0 dākhaviṇēṃ To show the teeth; to grin &c. ba0 lavaṇēṃ To predict (evil). ba0 vaṭhaṇēṃ To come to pass; to take place;--esp. malediction or a prediction of evil. ba0 hālaviṇēṃ- pāḍaṇēṃ To make one's teeth-rattle; to knock one's teeth down his throat. ba0 hālaviṇēṃ or, with g. of s., hālaṇēṃ To use boding speech; to predict evil. ba0 raṅgaviṇēṃ g. of o. To make one's teeth (gums or mouth) bleed (by a blow). 2 To redden one's gums and mouth by eating viḍā. tēhatiśī karīta nāhīṃ aśī ba0 karitī That which the thirty-three millions of gods cannot do is done by the thirty-two teeth (i.e. the teeth considered as the main organ of speech--teeth officiating in Maraṭhi for tongue in English.) Used upon occasions of abusive, obscene, or ill-omened speech.
