These names are derived re- spectively from the Nakshatras citrā, viśākhā, ā- ṣāḍhā, jyēṣṭhā, śravaṇa, bhādrapadā, aśvinī, kṛttikā, mṛgaśīrṣa, puṣya, maghā, phālgunī, the monthly moons being, in some part of the month, at the full in these mansions.
