Baḷipaṭṭana or Vaḷīpaṭṭana.—What’s more interesting is that the 1008 CE Khārepāṭaṇa plates seem to suggest that Baḷipaṭṭana was indeed in Goa. These plates record the grant of some villages by king Raṭṭarāja to the temple dedicated to Avveśvara.

1) Balipattana (बलिपत्तन) or Balināgara is the name of a village mentioned in the Paṭṭaṇakuḍi plates of Avasara II.—“In that family (of Jīmūtaketu, followed by Jīmūtavāhana) there was the illustrious king Dhammiyara, who founded Balipattana, charming with the surging waves of the ocean... Then there was his son named Ammalla by name, who conquered his enemies”.

2) Balipattana refers to a locality mentioned in the Khārepāṭaṇ plates of Raṭṭarāja (śaka year 930).—Balipattana is probably the ancient name of modern Khārepāṭaṇ.

3) Balipattana or Balīpaṭṭana is also mentioned as a port in the “Kharepāṭaṇ plates of Anantadeva I”. Balipattana is Khārepāṭaṇ.
