Anuvac (अनुवच्).—2 P.

1) To say or speak after or for one; येषां द्विजानां सावित्री नानूच्येत यथाविधि (yeṣāṃ dvijānāṃ sāvitrī nānūcyeta yathāvidhi) Manusmṛti 11.191.

2) To repeat, recite, reiterate; शतमनूच्यमायुष्कामस्य (śatamanūcyamāyuṣkāmasya) Ait. Br.; learn, study; परोवरं यज्ञोऽनूच्यते (parovaraṃ yajño'nūcyate) Śat. Br.; वेदमनूच्या- चार्योन्तेवासिनमनुशास्ति (vedamanūcyā- cāryontevāsinamanuśāsti) Tait. Up.1.1. अरण्येऽनूच्यमान- त्वादारण्यकम् (araṇye'nūcyamāna- tvādāraṇyakam) Sāy., see अनूचान (anūcāna) below.

3) To concede the point, assent to, yield.
