I am glad that the journal continues to maintain the rich traditions set by the Founder Editor and his successor. The Golden Jubilee number in particular has been more enchanting. Your editorial
‘Tamasoma Jyotirgamaya” is superb with sincerity and rich sensitivity and very moving.

Your editorial ‘Tamasoma’ was lucidly written. The autobiographical first person singular brought the reader nearer to the feeling of agony and endurance and philosophical outlook of the author. I wish the editor finds time to pen down some more memoirs of his student days, subsequent professional occupations that helped him turn out what he is as a good teacher, a guide and down to earth philosopher.

Youreditorial (Jan-Mar’98) about the powers of the human mind gave me immense pleasure. After giving a thoroughly scientific description of the structure and functions of the human brain, the article takes us on to extra-ordinary powers of the mind and the different states of consciousness, man’s failure to use them fully, and properly and the consequent, sorrow and misery, and his futile efforts to find happiness, peace, Truth, God, Realisation etc., in the external world. The description of the fourth state of consciousness in which the mind is ‘at oncealert and tranquil’ and can produce ‘the perennial current of creativity’ and enable one ‘to achieve self-realisation’ and true spirituality is superb. It brings to mind, Wordsworth’s unique description of
“.. that serene and blessed mood
“In which affections gently lead us on
“Until, the breath of this corporeal frame
“And even the motion of our human blood
“Almost suspended, we are laid asleep
“In body and become a living soul:
“While with an eye made quiet by the power
“Of harmony, and the deep power of joy,
“We see into the life of things”.

I was very happy to be informed recently by Dr. Sridhar Murthy of Osmania University who gave me a copy of the magazine, that the prestigious TRIVENI which spread the message of Education, Culture and Enlightenment under the able editorship of the lake K. Ramakotiswara Rao, has been revived by its admirers in Hyderabad and so it is continuing its useful existence. I had, in my younger days, heard of it and probably read one or two issues but somehow in later years, due to official career, I could not pursue the good habit of reading it regularly. Dr. Murthy said I could contribute articles to it.
