Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of verse 2.331:
प्रतिबोधाभ्युपायास्तु ये तं तं पुरुषं प्रति ।
नावश्यं तेऽभिसंबद्धाः शब्दा ज्ञेयेन वस्तुना ॥ ३३१ ॥pratibodhābhyupāyāstu ye taṃ taṃ puruṣaṃ prati |
nāvaśyaṃ te'bhisaṃbaddhāḥ śabdā jñeyena vastunā || 331 ||331. The means whereby the meaning is understood and which differ in the case of each person are not in any way connected with the thing to be known from the sentence.
