Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of verse 2.235:
अ(य)थाभ्यासं हि वागर्थे प्रतिपत्तिं समीहते ।
स्वभाव इव चानादिर्मिथ्यासो व्यवस्थितः ॥ २३५ ॥a(ya)thābhyāsaṃ hi vāgarthe pratipattiṃ samīhate |
svabhāva iva cānādirmithyāso vyavasthitaḥ || 235 ||235. The word conveys a meaning according to long grammatical usage. This long wrong usage appears to be natural.
Commentary
[The Vṛtti here points out that the wrong usage of words only reflects our wrong understanding of the world around us which is unreal, the only reality being the ultimate one.]
