धनं देहो गृहं सौधो
रत्नानि विविधानि च
सर्वेषां तु ह्य् अवश्यं वै
भूयान् मे कुशली शिशुः
dhanaṃ deho gṛhaṃ saudho
ratnāni vividhāni ca
sarveṣāṃ tu hy avaśyaṃ vai
bhūyān me kuśalī śiśuḥ
dhanam—wealth; dehaḥ—body; gṛham—home; saudhaḥ—a palace; ratnāni—jewels; vividhāni—various; ca—and; sarveṣām—of all; tu—certainly; hi—indeed; avaśyam—inevitably; vai—indeed; bhūyāt—may become; me—of me; kuśalī—happy; śiśuḥ—child.
English translation of verse 1.14.47:
My wealth, body, palace, and many jewels are all only so my son will be happy.
