The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.5.40, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 40 of Adi-khanda chapter 5—“Eating the Mendicant Brahmana’s Offerings”.

ভাল-মন্দ-জ্ঞান যার থাকে, মারি তারে আমার শপথ, যদি মারহ উহারে” ॥ ৪০ ॥
भाल-मन्द-ज्ञान यार थाके, मारि तारे आमार शपथ, यदि मारह उहारे” ॥ ४० ॥
bhāla-manda-jñāna yāra thāke, māri tāre āmāra śapatha, yadi māraha uhāre” || 40 ||
bhala-manda-jnana yara thake, mari tare amara sapatha, yadi maraha uhare” (40)
English translation:
(40) “Only one who can distinguish between right and wrong can be beat. Therefore I forbid you from beating this child.”
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
“There is no benefit in punishing a child who does not know what is right and wrong, therefore I forbid you from punishing Him.”
