1. Supplication, respectful representation; பெரிய.ோர்முன் பணிந்து கூறும் அறிவிப்பு. அடியேன் செய்யும் விண்ணப்பமே [periyormun paninthu kurum arivippu. adiyen seyyum vinnappame] (நாலாயிர திவ்யப்பிரபந்தம் இயற். திருவிருத்தம் [nalayira thivyappirapandam iyar. thiruvirutham] 1).
2. Recitation of sacred hymns in the presence of the deity; கடவுள் திருமுன்பு பாசுரம் முதலியன ஒதுகை. திருப்பல்லாண்டு பதியம்விண்ணப்பஞ்சாங்கம் செய்யவும் [kadavul thirumunpu pasuram muthaliyana othugai. thiruppallandu pathiyamvinnappagn seyyavum] (S. I. I. ii, 254, 4).
