1. Fleshless, bony head; தசை நீங்கி எலும்பு மாத்திரமாகிய தலை. வெண்டலை யுட்கச் சிரித்து [thasai ningi elumbu mathiramagiya thalai. vendalai yudkas sirithu] (நாலடியார் [naladiyar], 50).
2. Skull; தலையோடு. படு வெண்டலையிற் பலிகொண்டுழல்வீர் [thalaiyodu. padu vendalaiyir paligonduzhalvir] (தேவாரம் [thevaram] 946, 3).
