2. To protect; இரட்சித்தல். வயிற்றிற் கொண்டு நின் றொழிந்தார் [iradsithal. vayirrir kondu nin rozhinthar] (நாலாயிர திவ்யப்பிரபந்தம் திருவாய்மொழி [nalayira thivyappirapandam thiruvaymozhi] 8, 7, 9).
