Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarRauḍhyādi (रौढ्यादि).—Another name given to the क्रौड्यादि (krauḍyādi) class of words which are headed by क्रौडि (krauḍi) and which take the affix ष्यङ् (ṣyaṅ) to form their base in the feminine; e. g. क्रौड्या लाड्या (krauḍyā lāḍyā); cf. सिद्धं तु रौड्यादिषूपसंख्यानात् । के पुना रौढ्यादयः । ये क्रौड्यादय (siddhaṃ tu rauḍyādiṣūpasaṃkhyānāt | ke punā rauḍhyādayaḥ | ye krauḍyādaya); M. Bh. on P. IV. 1.79.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
