Sk. rājarṣi, frequent in Mhbhārata & Rāmā yana) Th. 1, 1127 (read rāja-d-isi); It. 21 (rājīsayo, with var vv. ll. not quite the same meaning); J. VI, 116, 124, 127, 518; DhA. IV, 29. Kern, Toev. s. v. proposes reading rājīsi.
Note: rājisi is a Pali compound consisting of the words rājā and isi.
Pali is the language of the Tipiṭaka, which is the sacred canon of Theravāda Buddhism and contains much of the Buddha’s speech. Closeley related to Sanskrit, both languages are used interchangeably between religions.
