Pratibudh (प्रतिबुध्).—4 Ā.

1) To wake, wake up, awaken; तस्य सोऽहर्निशस्यान्ते प्रसुप्तं प्रतिबुध्यते (tasya so'harniśasyānte prasuptaṃ pratibudhyate) Manusmṛti 1.74; Y.1.33.

2) To perceive, be conscious, know. -Caus.

1) To awaken, rouse from sleep; प्रियया प्रतिबोध्यमानमपि सुप्तम् (priyayā pratibodhyamānamapi suptam) (hatahṛdayam) Ś.6.7.

2) To inform, make known, acqaint with, communicate; भावितात्मा भुवो भर्तुरथैनं प्रत्यबोधयत् (bhāvitātmā bhuvo bharturathainaṃ pratyabodhayat) R.1.74; Śiśupālavadha 6.8.

3) To charge or entrust with.
