Paṃcāgni (पंचाग्नि) [Also spelled panchagni]:—(nf) a collection of five fires (one each of the east, west, north, and south, the sun overhead being the fifth) amidst which Hindu devotees perform penance, five mystic fires supposed to be present in human body; —[tapanā] to undertake the severest penance.
