Mukkūṭal (முக்கூடல்) [mu-kūṭal] noun < மூன்று [munru] + கூடு-. [kudu-.]

1. A place where three rivers meet, generally considered sacred; மூன்றுநதிகள் கூடும் புண்ணியத் துறை. திருமுக்கூட லென்றிசைப்ப [munrunathigal kudum punniyath thurai. thirumukkuda lenrisaippa] (கருவூர்புராணம் ஆமிரா. [karuvurpuranam amira.] 45).
