Jñānasāgarasūri (ज्ञानसागरसूरि) is the author of the Ilākumāracopaī (dealing with the lives of Jain teachers), which is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The author, Jñānasāgarasūri, pays homage to his Guru, Māṇikyasāgara, both at the beginning and at the end of his composition. The verse where he states his sectarian affiliation (vidhipakṣa = añcalagaccha), the name of his teacher’s teacher (Lalitasāgara), the date and place of composition (VS 1719 = 1662 CE, Śekhapura) is missing in this ms. he refers to the Āvaśyaka corpus (‘old commentary’) as the source from which he drew.
