jitā kōḷasā (जिता कोळसा).—m Charcoal prepared by being buried in earth (not having been quenched by water). It thus is held to preserve its vitality unimpaired. 2 Glowing or hot charcoal; as pounded and reserved for application over dints and contusions on the body. 3 Quickly kindling charcoal; i.e. charcoal prepared from certain light kinds of wood (as the Milk bush, Castor oil-tree &c.)
