Janetrī (जनेत्री).—(= prec. and janayitrī, q.v.; Pali janettī), mother: janetrī-saṃpannāś ca bhavanti samyaksaṃbuddhā Mahāvastu i.142.7; jina-janetrī i.149.13 = 217.1 = ii.19.15 (verse); pūrva-janetrī, mother in a former birth, ii.205.3 (verse); jātiśatāni janetrī abhūṣi 205.9 (verse); purimabhavajanetriye bhavanighātī 206.15 (verse, so read with mss.); Gaṇḍavyūha 37.15; 355.5; 381.5 (Vairocanasya janetry evam…); Lalitavistara 82.22; 98.8 (atītānām…bodhisattvānām…) janetryaḥ; tasya mātā janetrī Gaṇḍavyūha 354.23, the mother that bore him (similarly s.v. janayitrī); etc. All these prose except as marked verse.
