Vol. XIX, p. 247, text line 103), refers to the right to levy the tax called āruvaṇa (Sanskrit ṣaṭ-paṇa) according to the local custom. Note: deśa-maryād-āruvaṇa-anvila is defined in the “Indian epigraphical glossary” as it can be found on ancient inscriptions commonly written in Sanskrit, Prakrit or Dravidian languages.
