Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationDaityeśvara (दैत्येश्वर) refers to the “lord of Daityas” and is used to describe Jalandhara, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.5.20 (“The fight between the Gaṇas and the Asuras”).—Accordingly, as Sanatkumāra narrated to Vyāsa: “Rāhu had been let off in the land of the outcastes. He too became an outcaste and came to be known in the world as such. Considering that as his second birth he became humble. He became free from haughtiness (gatagarva). He slowly wended his way to the city of Jalandhara. After approaching Jalandhara the lord of Daityas (daityeśvara), he explained everything concerning Śiva in detail, O Vyāsa. [...]”
