Ciṟupoḻutu (சிறுபொழுது) [ciṟu-poḻutu] noun < idem. +. Divisions of the day, six in number, viz., mālai, iṭai-yāmam, viṭiyal, kālai, naṇpakal, eṟpāṭu, or five in number, viz., mālai, yāmam, vaikaṟai, eṟpaṭukālai, naṇpakal, distinct from perum-poḻutu; மாலை, இடையாமம், விடியல், காலை, நண்பகல், ஏற்பாடு [vaithiya malaiyagarathi, idaiyamam, vidiyal, kalai, nanpagal, erpadu] (தொல். பொ. [thol. po.] 6, உரை. [urai.]) என அறுவகையாகவும், மாலை, யாமம், வைகறை, எற் படுகாலை, நண்பகல் [ena aruvagaiyagavum, vaithiya malaiyagarathi, yamam, vaigarai, er padugalai, nanpagal] (அகப்பொருள் விளக்கம் [agapporul vilakkam] 12.) என ஐவகையாக வும் கூறப்படும் நாட்பிரிவு. [ena aivagaiyaga vum kurappadum nadpirivu.]
