Caṟpāvam (சற்பாவம்) [caṟ-pāvam] noun < idem. + bhāva.

1. Existence; உளதாந்தன்மை. அஞ்ஞான விலேச சற்பாவ வுடன்பாட்டால் [ulathanthanmai. ajnana vilesa sarpava vudanpattal] (வேதாந்த சூளாமணிமணிமேகலை [vethanda sulamani] 162).

2. The conception that Guru is a manifestation of the Supreme Being, one of four kuru-cēvai, q.v.; நால்வகைக் குருசேவைகளுள் சற்குருவைப் பிரமசொரூப மாகப் பாவிக்கை. [nalvagaig kurusevaigalul sarkuruvaip piramasorupa magap pavikkai.] (வேதாந்த சூளாமணிமணிமேகலை [vethanda sulamani] 12.)
