Source: archive.org: Ceylon Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society 1963Avuruviṭi or Avuruviṭigāma is the name of an ancient village that existed near the ancient kingdom of Anurādhapura, Ceylon (Sri Lanka).—At Ācāraviṭṭhigāma or Avuruviṭigāma, 3 yojanas or 12 gav (20 to 30 miles) north-east of Anurādhapura, gold is said to have been found in the reign of Duṭṭhagāmaṇi Abhaya (B.C. 161-137): the place would have been in the area Ratmalegahevāva-Kābiṭṭigollāva.
