Āvarttaka (आवर्त्तक).—m.

(-kaḥ) 1. A revolution, a whirl. 2. A whirlpool. 3. A curl of hair, especially on a horse. 4. Revolution of the mind from the influence of the senses. 5. The depression above the frontal ridge or over the eyebrows. f. (-kī) The name of a creeping plant. E. kan added to the last.
