The Commonality of Men

S. Samal

At times I feel.
seeing the infernal act
and frenzy of men;
loot, rape, murder, arson
carnage and destruction
that the deluge is on
and God, no doubt,
has committed
the greatest blunder
by creating
the ugly uncouth viper,
that is man.

Man is man’s foe
and sworn enemy,
Cain, the killer.
Isn’t it possible to live
without that bourgeois insane
jealousy and hatred,
let people live
and the world
go on its own?

What a lovely place,
heaven of peace,
would be our earth
were there no anger and animus
cruelty and violence!
if man could live
alone by love
beyond caste, creed,
race and religion!

O, all men are one and equal
God’s mighty heart throbs
and man’s red blood
flows in all!

Man’s caste is man
his mission peace
God love
and religion,
humanity and brotherhood.
Oh, God!
grant him this plainest Truth
and profoundest wisdom.
