Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of verse 2.456:
एकरूपमनेकार्थं तस्मादुपनिबन्धनम् ।
योनिर्विभागवाक्यानां तेभ्योऽनन्यदिव स्थितम् ॥ ४५६ ॥ekarūpamanekārthaṃ tasmādupanibandhanam |
yonirvibhāgavākyānāṃ tebhyo'nanyadiva sthitam || 456 ||456. It has the same form, it has many applications and, therefore, it is the basis (upanibandhana) (of the subordinate rules); it is the source of the rules of elaboration (vibhāgavākyānām) and it appears to be one with them.
