The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.8.170, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 170 of Madhya-khanda chapter 8—“The Manifestation of Opulences”.

ভাবাবেশে পাকল লোচনে যারে চায মহাত্রাস পাঞা সেই হাসিযা পলায ॥ ১৭০ ॥
भावावेशे पाकल लोचने यारे चाय महात्रास पाञा सेइ हासिया पलाय ॥ १७० ॥
bhāvāveśe pākala locane yāre cāya mahātrāsa pāñā sei hāsiyā palāya || 170 ||
bhavavese pakala locane yare caya mahatrasa pana sei hasiya palaya (170)
English translation:
(170) In His ecstasy, whoever the Lord looked at with His red eyes would first become frightened and then run away laughing.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
The word pākala means “blood-red,” “red,” or “crimson.”
