The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.15.12, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 12 of Adi-khanda chapter 15—“Marriage with Shri Vishnupriya”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.15.12:

‘তিলক না থাকে যদি বিপ্রের কপালে সে কপাল শ্মশান-সদৃশ’—বেদে বলে ॥ ১২ ॥

‘तिलक ना थाके यदि विप्रेर कपाले से कपाल श्मशान-सदृश’—वेदे बले ॥ १२ ॥

‘tilaka nā thāke yadi viprera kapāle se kapāla śmaśāna-sadṛśa’—vede bale || 12 ||

‘tilaka na thake yadi viprera kapale se kapala smasana-sadrsa’—vede bale (12)

English translation:

(12) “The Vedas say that if a brāhmaṇa’s forehead is not decorated with tilaka, it is as good as a crematorium.
