The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.2.127, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 127 of Adi-khanda chapter 2—“The Lord’s Appearance”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.2.127:

ছাডিলেন ভক্ত-গণ সর্ব উপভোগ অবতরিবারে প্রভু করিলা উদ্যোগ ॥ ১২৭ ॥

छाडिलेन भक्त-गण सर्व उपभोग अवतरिबारे प्रभु करिला उद्योग ॥ १२७ ॥

chāḍilena bhakta-gaṇa sarva upabhoga avataribāre prabhu karilā udyoga || 127 ||

chadilena bhakta-gana sarva upabhoga avataribare prabhu karila udyoga (127)

English translation:

(127) As the devotees gave up all material comforts, the Supreme Lord prepared to advent.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

As the devotees anticipated the Lord’s appearance, they refrained from

all forms of material happiness and enjoyment. The Supreme Lord prepared to advent as His heart melted with compassion for the devotees’ distress.
