1) Sickness, ailment, disease, illness (usually physical, and opp. ādhi which means 'mental distress or anxiety'); रिपुरुन्नतधीरचेतसः सततव्याधिरनीतिरस्तु ते (ripurunnatadhīracetasaḥ satatavyādhiranītirastu te) Śiśupālavadha 16. 11 (where vyādhi means 'free from ādhi' also); cf. आधि (ādhi).
2) Leprosy.
